Jabalpur: A strange incident took place in a two-wheeler showroom in the city recently. The vehicles that came to be sold here disappeared one by one. After two months, when the stock was matched, it was found that a total of 35 vehicles had gone missing. The showroom owner got a loss of lakhs and he was not even aware of this game. The matter reached the police station and after investigation the police arrested 20 buyers including the main accused. The main accused turned out to be none other than an employee of the showroom.

The information about the vehicles being stolen from the TVS bike showroom located at Ranital Chowk under Lordganj police station came to light when the operator matched the stock. The vehicles were matched on 29th November, after which it was matched again on 22nd January 2023, when 35 vehicles were found less. The operator lodged a complaint of theft of vehicles in the police station. Police started investigation. Police said that Puran Lal Chadhar, who has been working in the showroom for 10 years, had made these vehicles disappear from the warehouse in the middle of the showroom.

Sold two wheelers on installments to 20 people
The method of theft was such that whenever the manager sent Puran Lal to bring vehicles from the godown, he used to take out more vehicles from the godown than the vehicles called for. While bringing to the showroom, Puran used to make vehicles disappear on the way. Similarly, he had stolen and sold around 35 two-wheelers. When the police interrogated Puran after taking him into custody, he confessed to his crime and informed about selling vehicles to about 20 people. He sold these vehicles on installment in many areas including Gohalpur, Lordganj.

Car buyers were also made accused
Jabalpur SP Siddharth Bahuguna told that along with the main accused Puran Lal Chadhar, the police have also accused all the 20 people who had bought stolen vehicles from Puran on installment. The police is now trying to find out whether any other person from the showroom or other people of the city were involved in the theft incident.
